Browser Controls

Move Cards: Click or tap a card to move it between the columns, the free cells, and the foundations. Columns build down in alternating colors; foundations build up by suit, starting from the aces.
Auto Finish: Once the win is locked in, Auto Finish sweeps the remaining cards up to the foundations for you — no need to click out the victory lap card by card.
Hint: Truly stuck? The Hint button points out a legal move. In FreeCell the answer is almost always on the table — a hint is a nudge to see it.
Undo, Restart & New Deal: Undo steps back through your moves, Restart Deal resets the exact same board for another attempt, and New Deal (or a typed deal number) brings a fresh puzzle.

Special Rules

Everything Face Up: All 52 cards are visible from the first move — FreeCell hides nothing. That makes it a pure planning game: the information is all there, and the skill is in reading it.
Free Cells Are Parking, Not Storage: Each free cell holds a single card. Parking cards buys you moves, but every filled cell shrinks what you can do next — the open cells and empty columns are your real working space.
Numbered Deals: Every board has a deal number, shown as you play — and the numbers follow the classic FreeCell deal system, identical card for card. Start a random deal, or enter a specific number to replay a favorite, retry a nemesis, or race a friend on the identical board.
No Moves Left: If no legal moves remain, the game says so plainly — and in FreeCell that verdict is about your line, not your luck. Undo a few moves or Restart Deal and solve the same board a better way.

Winning Strategies

Dig for the Aces First: Your opening moves should tunnel toward buried aces and twos. Foundations are the exit — the sooner low cards start flowing up, the sooner the whole board loosens.
Empty a Column Early: An empty column is the most powerful space in the game — it holds whole sequences, not single cards. Earning one early is usually worth more than any other progress.
Keep the Cells Open: Filling every free cell feels productive and is usually how games die. Park a card only when it serves a plan, and unload the cells the moment you can.
Plan Before You Touch: With everything face up, the best players move last and think first. Trace the full route for a buried card before you start digging — and if the line sours, Undo without shame.

What does Auto Finish do?

When the game is effectively won and the remaining cards are ready to go home, Auto Finish sends them up to the foundations automatically — sparing you the card-by-card cleanup at the end of a solved board.

What happens if I run out of moves?

The game tells you plainly that no legal moves remain, and offers Undo or Restart. In FreeCell that's a fixable verdict: rewind the moves that boxed you in, or restart the very same deal and take a different route — the winning line is almost certainly still in there.

How is FreeCell different from Klondike solitaire?

Klondike deals most cards face down, so luck decides many games before you draw a card. FreeCell shows you everything from move one and makes nearly every deal solvable — the outcome rests on your planning, not the shuffle. If Klondike is a coin flip with skill attached, FreeCell is a puzzle wearing a card game's clothes.

Is there a hint if I'm stuck?
